Chapman’s Four-Goal Night Powers Bisons Past Thunder, 10-3

Carstar Okotoks Bisons 10, Airdrie Techmation Thunder 3 — Final

Connor Chapman scored four goals as the Carstar Okotoks Bisons blew past the Airdrie Techmation Thunder 10-3 on Saturday night at Murray & Piper Arena, a rout that saw Okotoks score eight unanswered goals across the first two periods.

Okotoks jumped ahead early and never looked back. Jakob Semeniuk opened the scoring at 7:17 (assisted by Jake Perry and Nathan Flanagan), and although Airdrie’s Tyson Sandhu answered just over a minute later, Okotoks reeled off three more before the period ended — Chapman at 13:49, Nathan Flanagan at 15:14, and Semeniuk’s second (the eventual game-winner) at 16:05 — to take a 4-1 lead after twenty minutes.

The onslaught continued in the second. Chapman scored twice more in an eight-minute span (0:10 and 8:05) and added a third in the period just seconds later at 8:12, giving him four goals on the night, while Flanagan also found the net again at 1:28. Airdrie’s lone answer in the period came on the power play from Ty Brander at 13:49. Okotoks carried an 8-2 lead into the third.

Airdrie’s Grayden Ewing got the Thunder within range briefly at 7:23 of the third, but Okotoks closed it out with goals from Noah Provan (16:05) and Chris Woolcott (17:02) to make it 10-3 final. Okotoks out-shot Airdrie 37-28 for the game. Derrick Ford played all 60 minutes in net for the win, stopping 25 of 28; Airdrie used two goaltenders, with Lucas Veal (15/23) taking the loss before Hudson Brett (12/14) finished it in relief.
