Mountain View Colts 10, Rimbey Royals 0 — Final
The Mountain View Colts routed the Rimbey Royals 10-0 on Saturday night at Vern Poffenroth Memorial Arena, scoring in every period and out-shooting the Royals 53-22 in a complete team performance — one night after the same two teams played the opposite result in their previous meeting.
Mountain View opened the scoring at 15:12 of the first when Lucas Billings buried the eventual game-winner, assisted by Zachary Wheatley and Ryder Hammer. Wheatley added an insurance goal of his own at 17:50, and Sawyer Campbell capped the period with ten seconds left to make it 3-0 after twenty minutes.
The Colts pulled away for good in the second, scoring five times. Rhett Miller opened and closed a two-goal night for himself (0:48 and 13:36, both assisted by Joseph Krukowski), sandwiched around goals from Keenan Feenstra (14:10) and Ryder Hammer (14:38) just 28 seconds apart. Joseph Krukowski capped the period at 18:10 to make it 8-0 through forty minutes. Rimbey turned to a second goaltender, Anden Bieganowski, at 14:38 of the second after Jace Sanderson had allowed seven goals on 34 shots.
Mountain View added two more in the third — Lucas Billings’s second of the night at 1:28 and Brock Dingman’s goal with 1:15 remaining — to complete the 10-0 shutout. William Steingart turned aside all 22 shots he faced for Mountain View to earn the win.
