Mountain View Colts 0, Carstar Okotoks Bisons 3
The Carstar Okotoks Bisons ended the Mountain View Colts’ 11-game unbeaten start to the season, shutting them out 3-0 at Murray & Piper Arena on Saturday behind a 60-save performance from Derrick Ford — stopping every shot Mountain View fired at him.
Issac Cayetano opened the scoring on the power play at 9:00 of the first, and Seamus Garagan added a second late in the period to make it 2-0 after 20 minutes. Neither team scored in the second despite Mountain View holding a 25-10 shots advantage in the frame, and Zephyr Laplante capped the scoring with an empty-net goal with 1:20 left in the third to close out the 3-0 final. Mountain View outshot Okotoks 60-28 for the game but could not solve Ford, who earned the game’s Home Team Star.
Okotoks’ Derrick Ford made 60 saves on 60 shots for the shutout. Mountain View’s William Steingart stopped 25 of 27 in the loss.
