The Cannex Cochrane Generals beat the Airdrie Techmation Thunder 2-1 on Saturday night at SLS Centre Totem 1, getting strong goaltending from Owen Hall-Chay despite being badly outshot for most of the game.

The shot totals tell an unusual story: Cochrane out-shot Airdrie 53-22 for the game, including 23-4 in the first period alone, yet needed just two goals to win. Cochrane’s Owen Hall-Chay played all 60 minutes for the win, stopping 21 of 22; Airdrie’s Hudson Brett kept his team in it with 51 saves on 53 shots in a losing effort.
