The Sylvan Lake Wranglers are moving on after defeating the Mountainview Colts 4–2 on Sunday, February 22, 2026, in Game 5 of their North Division semifinal series.
The win secured a 3–2 victory in the best-of-five series for the Wranglers, who now advance to the North Division Final where they will face the Red Deer Vipers.
The deciding game was played at the Didsbury Memorial Complex in front of 468 fans.
First Period
Mountainview opened the scoring at 12:36 when Ryder Hammer found the back of the net. The lead was short-lived, however, as Sylvan Lake’s Owen Callow responded just 12 seconds later to tie the game 1–1.
Second Period
Sylvan Lake took control in the middle frame with goals from Maddex Bignell and Karson Ledieu, giving the Wranglers a 3–1 lead heading into the third period.
Third Period
Brendan Harnack extended Sylvan Lake’s advantage early in the final period, making it 4–1. Mountainview’s Tyler Gyori scored at 5:38 to cut the deficit to two, but the Colts were unable to mount a comeback.
Goaltending
Colts goaltender Kaden Toussaint stopped 30 shots in what marked his final junior game. At the other end, Brock Lott turned aside 35 shots to earn the win for the Wranglers.
Sylvan Lake now turns its attention to the North Division Final against Red Deer.
