Two gold, five silver, one bronze — won by six different HJHL communities. No other league in Alberta has medalled in every provincial it has played. (2020 and 2021 were cancelled for COVID-19.)

Competitiveness

The HJHL is the only league in the province to medal in the last eight provincial tournaments: two gold, five silver, one bronze. Six different HJHL communities have been on that podium — Cochrane, Red Deer, Airdrie, Okotoks, Sylvan Lake, and Medicine Hat.

That’s not a marketing line. That’s a track record.

Value

Season fees run $1,000 to $3,500. Pay-to-play programs charge $10,000 and up — with none of the sanctioning and none of the results.

Flexibility

Most of our players are finishing high school, attending college, or working full-time while they play.

This league fits around real life, not the other way around.

Governance

Hockey Alberta and Hockey Canada sanctioned. Real insurance, real oversight, and a real path forward: provincials, Jr A call-ups, and scholarship opportunities.

Stability

Forty years ago, a handful of Alberta communities decided they’d rather build something than wait around for someone else to. Twelve communities later, that decision is still what the HJHL is.

Opportunity

Camps are open to any player who wants in — no invitation required. Every game streams on FloHockey, so family, billets, and scouts can watch from anywhere.
