A Message from the HJHL President: The All-Star Game Returns — And Strathmore Is the Perfect Host
As President of the Heritage Junior Hockey League, I’m proud to share some exciting news with our players, fans, and communities across Alberta: the HJHL All-Star Game is officially back — and it’s coming to Strathmore in 2025.
This marks the first time since 2018 that our league will gather its top talent for a full All-Star showcase, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to bring this event to a town that truly embodies the spirit of junior hockey.
Strathmore has long been a cornerstone of our league — a place where hockey isn’t just a sport, it’s a way of life. From the passionate fan base to the tireless volunteers and the unwavering support of local businesses, Strathmore has everything we look for in a host community. The Agra Risk Wheatland Kings have been instrumental in making this happen, and we’re grateful for their leadership and vision.
The return of the All-Star Game is more than symbolic. It represents a renewed commitment to celebrating excellence, sportsmanship, and the future of our league. After several challenging years of pandemic disruptions and shifting schedules, 2025 marks a fresh start — and Strathmore gets to set the tone.
Our selection format ensures that the most deserving players from across the HJHL will be recognized:
- 1st Place Teams: 5 players
- 2nd Place Teams: 4 players
- 3rd Place Teams: 3 players
- 4th–6th Place Teams: 2 players each
- Goaltenders: Selected based on in-season stats
This structure rewards performance and gives fans a thrilling look at the rising stars of junior hockey.
To everyone in Strathmore and beyond: thank you for your continued support of the HJHL. We can’t wait to celebrate with you in 2025 — on the ice, in the stands, and throughout the community.
Let’s make this All-Star Game one to remember.
Ian Hall
President, Heritage Junior Hockey League
