League scholarships
Playing in the HJHL can help pay for school. Each year, players, on-ice officials, and team therapists from Alberta junior hockey are awarded scholarships toward their post-secondary education. The money comes through the Friends of Alberta Junior Hockey Society, which has been backing Alberta players since the early 1980s.
Two programs run every season for players attending post-secondary school in Alberta. You don’t have to be a top scorer to qualify. Academics, sportsmanship, and commitment to your team matter too.
